Vaonis Hestia
This is not a smart telescope. Six lenses, 30 mm, no motor, no sensor. The image forms in the camera of the phone you set on the eyepiece.
On its own, at three-quarters, on the face that takes the phone
not in the comparison This is not a smart telescope. Six lenses, 30 mm, no motor, no tracking, no sensor. The image forms in the camera of the phone you set on top of it. The comparison table has the sensor, the mount and the focal ratio for its columns. Filing the Hestia there would blur the category instead of lighting it up. So it has its entry, and it has no line.

List price recorded in 2026, excluding promotions and accessories. It is not an offer. The price offered to you arrives in writing.
This device can be ordered from me. No basket and no online payment: the price, the lead time and availability arrive in writing. I have never had it in my hands. That is written further down this entry, and I am not going to tell you otherwise in order to sell it to you.
The device photographs are the manufacturers' official images. UST is an authorised reseller for all five brands. No image comes from a competing reseller.

This device has no focal ratio on this entry. Its manufacturer does not publish a focal length.
Rapport d'ouverture : the focal length divided by the diameter, written f/, and the smaller that number, the faster the image forms.
The exposure equivalence on the other entries is worked out from that ratio alone. It cannot be written here, and I do not estimate it. Its field of view is missing for the same reason. A missing figure is written as missing. It is not guessed.

Where it excels
What it does well
The Moon, and the Sun with its filter. Vaonis also quotes the brightest deep sky objects, down to magnitude 7 to 8. That is a low limit: the larger the number, the fainter the object.
Strong points
- About €200, less than half the price of the most affordable of the devices compared here.
- 850 grams, 17 × 24 × 5.5 cm, and nothing to charge. No electronics, no battery, no updates.
- On the Moon, PetaPixel judges the craters and the surface textures to be very visible.
- It works with any phone, iOS or Android.
Weak points
- No motor, no tracking, no sensor. It does not align itself and does not follow the rotation of the sky. It is re-pointed by hand.
- No focal length published, so no focal ratio can be worked out. Half the columns in the comparison would stay empty.
- Quoted limiting magnitude 7 to 8: faint galaxies and nebulae are out of reach.
- Under a town sky, PetaPixel describes the difficulty of capturing anything other than the Moon and the Sun.
- Fixed magnification at 25 times: nothing is adjustable.

The tripod and the solar filter are not in every pack. The price printed here is that of the Essential pack, recorded at a French reseller.

This entry has no focal ratio, because Vaonis does not publish a focal length. I do not estimate it. A missing figure is written as missing, it is not guessed.

03
Moon tracking exists in the iOS app. PetaPixel notes that the Android version was still a work in progress at the time of its review.
Images made with this device
No images: it has not been tried
This device has never been used to make one of my images. The photographs above show the device, and they come from the manufacturer. No sky image is borrowed to fill the space. Its entry rests on the published sources, listed further down. Its integration time scale therefore stays at zero.
Temps d'intégration : the total exposure time, the sum of every exposure stacked on an object.
0 images · space left empty
I publish 10 photographs, 2 of which are of equipment. None of them appears on this entry, and that is deliberate: not one of them shows this device, and an image placed there would amount to a claim.

The prices are indicative and recorded in 2026. A specification wrong or out of date? Report it. The field of view and the sampling are not published here. The physical size of the sensor is not part of the project's sourced data, and those two values cannot be estimated.
Some of these sources are the pages of resellers selling the same device as me. They stay cited: that is where the figure comes from. Removing them would make this entry impossible to check. I refuse to do that.
