That distance is the average of 55 independent redshift measurements, the way distances far away are estimated. It is 10.5 arcminutes by 5.9. Its surface brightness is low, 14.58 magnitudes per square arcminute. So it is classed among the low surface brightness galaxies. A narrowband filter brings nothing on a galaxy. It is the hours of exposure and the darkness of the sky that decide.
