Nébuleuse Oméga
An emission nebula, a cloud of gas that shines, 5,500 light-years away in Sagittarius.
It holds one of the youngest star clusters in our galaxy: about a million years old. Its bright part appears in the first few minutes, and it is what earned it its nicknames of the Omega, the Swan and the Horseshoe. The rest of the cloud is far larger, and far fainter. It only shows itself as the exposures pile up. The dual-band filter helps there, since all that gas is in emission.
