My name is Gus and I will be your guide to the stars through this window onto the new world of the Smart Telescope and its magic.

This site started out as a logbook of exposures, not as a shop. It is still a comparison. I publish the weak points in the same place as the strong ones. Nine of the twelve devices have never been tried, and their entries say so. But if one of them suits you, you do not need to go looking for it anywhere else.

Before you choose
Yes. The twelve devices on this site can be ordered from me. There is no basket and no online payment. You say which one interests you in the contact form. You get a price, a lead time and a written reply. The comparison does not change for all that. I publish the weak points of every model there, and I say which ones have never been tried.
An instrument with no eyepiece. It points on its own, focuses on its own, tracks the object on its own, and stacks short exposures live on your phone. The image you see is never a single exposure: it is a sum that improves for as long as the device stays on it.
No. All my images were made from the Puy-de-Dôme, between 45.5° and 45.8° north. The sky there is often suburban. A dark sky shortens the time needed. It is not a condition of it.
It depends on the object and on the sky. In this catalogue, the median runs to about an hour: more than half the objects fit inside 1h 15m. The deepest one totals 22h 12m, spread over several nights.
None of the twelve is bad, they are not aiming at the same thing. The price, the aperture and the presence of a dual-band filter decide almost everything. The product entries give the weak points as much as the strong ones.

Every image is mine, every exposure is true. I am the one who answers, who took the photographs, and who will get you the device. If a figure looks wrong to you, or if a device is missing, write as well: the correction will be made and dated.
