Nébuleuse du Petit Renard

Two objects in the same field, some 6,790 light-years away in Vulpecula.

First the open cluster NGC 6823, very young at 6.6 million years. Then the cloud of gas NGC 6820, which it makes shine around it. The gas carries column structures turned towards the cluster, sculpted by the radiation of its stars. The stars of the cluster are captured in a few seconds. The gas, on the other hand, is faint: it asks for the dual-band filter and long hours.
