An emission nebula about 5,310 light-years away, in Orion.
It is associated with the open cluster NGC 2175, whose stars make it shine. It covers 40 arcminutes by 30 and stretches across nearly 62 light-years. Since the gas is in emission, the dual-band filter brings it out quickly. What gains afterwards, with exposure time, is the contrast between that gas and the dark dust that draws the profile.
